About Us

We're a small shop on Beale Street, in Kingman, Arizona — a region long associated with turquoise.

Kingman Turquoise & Jewelry shop at 407 E Beale Street, Kingman Arizona — display cases with authentic turquoise jewelry

Kingman Turquoise & Jewelry opened in 2017. The premise was simple. Most "turquoise" sold to tourists in the Southwest is dyed magnesite, plastic resin, or chips reconstituted into something that looks like a stone but isn't. We thought there was room for the opposite. Real stones, fairly cut, set by hand, sold honestly.

We work trusted sources throughout the Kingman area and across the Southwest — handpicking for authenticity and quality. We also work with a network of local Navajo silversmiths who've been building with this stone for generations using traditional techniques. Between the two, almost everything in our cases is one of one.

The shop is run by people who'll talk you out of a piece that doesn't suit you. We're not on commission. We don't push. If you walk in and ask hard questions about a stone, we'll show you the rough cut it came from. If you want to know whether the silver is sterling or plated, we'll weigh it for you. That's the bar.

Custom work is a big part of what we do. Bring us a stone you inherited or pick one from the case, and we'll build a ring, cuff, or pendant around it. Most pieces are done in a few weeks. Most clients keep them for decades and pass them down.

We're at 407 E Beale St, open Monday through Saturday, 11 to 5. Come in or call (928) 263-1502.

A few things we don't do

  • · Sell dyed howlite or magnesite as turquoise
  • · Misrepresent stone origin (no Chinese turquoise sold as American)
  • · Mark up Indigenous-crafted work without crediting the artisan
  • · Pressure first-time buyers to spend more than they came in to spend
  • · Run sales that "expire today" and then keep running them
